We are thrilled to welcome Peg Connery-Boyd, an award-winning artist and entrepreneur, to the Osmosis Gallery family. With over 20 years of experience painting in oils, Peg's vibrant and expressive work captures the essence of both her New England roots and the stunning landscapes of the Southwest.
Peg's artistic journey began in Springfield, MA, where she grew up as the youngest of six children. She graduated from the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA, and embarked on a career in IT in Boston before moving to Connecticut. Her life took a transformative turn in 2016 when she and her husband, Jim, relocated to Arizona. The vast and beautiful vistas of the desert inspired Peg to paint larger canvases featuring Sedona’s red rocks, sweeping desert scenes, and the seascapes she missed from New England.
Peg's style is characterized by bold, vibrant colors and loose, free-flowing brushstrokes. She finds joy in capturing the energy and emotion of her subjects, creating a unique balance between boldness and sensitivity. Her work reflects her training in realistic painting and figure drawing, combined with her recent exploration of the space between realism and abstraction. Peg’s diverse subject matter ranges from breathtaking sunsets over the ocean to the expressive faces of toddlers, each piece infused with the beauty she perceives in both the small and large moments of life.
Her artistic influences include masters like Degas, Cassatt, Cezanne, and Fechin. Additionally, Peg’s practice of Reiki, yoga, and meditation brings a spiritual and healing emphasis to her art. Her intention is to share joy, light, and healing energy through her creations.
Peg's impressive portfolio includes exhibitions at Studio 33 Gallery and Granite St. Gallery in New London, the Lyme Art Association in Connecticut, The District in Scottsdale, and Arizona State University. Her work is currently featured at Uncommon Wares in Boulder, CO, and the Tumbleweed Art Collective in Longmont, CO. Peg has also made her mark in the publishing world, illustrating and publishing a series of licensed Major League Baseball activity books through her company, Hawk's Nest Publishing.
Since moving to Erie, CO in July 2021, Peg has embraced the natural beauty of the Rocky Mountains. She is an active member of Open Studios Boulder, the Louisville Art Association, and the East Boulder County Artists. Peg continues to consult on entrepreneurial efforts while dedicating herself to her art.
Join us in welcoming Peg to Osmosis Gallery. We invite you to experience her vibrant, joyful paintings that evoke the emotion and sensation she perceives, bringing a touch of magic to every canvas.
