Why Not Niwot? 2026 — The Call Is Out

Why Not Niwot? is a show that gets better the longer you've been paying attention. Artists return year after year with new takes on the same essential subject: Niwot. To mark the milestone of our 15th year, lamppost banners featuring past grand prize winners are now hanging throughout Old Town Niwot on 2nd Avenue and Cottonwood Square. Stop by for a walk-by gallery of what this show has produced and the range of ways artists have interpreted this town.

Entries are now open. The premise is simple: 2D work inspired by or depicting Niwot. Painting, watercolor, acrylic, gouache, or mixed media. The entry deadline is July 6, with the exhibition running August 3 through September 11 and the awards reception on Friday, September 11 at Niwot Hall.

Prizes: $500 Grand Prize / $250 Second Place / $100 Third Place / $100 People's Choice.
