Mike Brouse

Mike Brouse brings a joyful passion and adventurous spirit to his painting practice. Known for his radiant modern works and impressionistic landscapes, his home studio is filled with bold color and creative energy. His enthusiasm is as evident in conversation as it is on the canvas.
Mike has been developing his artistic voice throughout his life. He attended a vocational technical high school where he immersed himself in drafting—spending hours a day creating detailed plans for wood and metal shop projects. This path led to a degree in mechanical engineering from Penn State and a successful early career in drafting. But as the profession shifted to digital formats in the 1990s, Mike began to long for the tactile, expressive nature of hand drawing.
That desire sparked a new direction. What had once been a creative outlet during vacations became a serious pursuit, as Mike taught himself to paint and gradually transitioned into life as a working artist. His work continues to evolve through experimentation, pushing boundaries in style, technique, and subject matter.
Always eager to grow, Mike’s art reflects both a technical foundation and an expressive freedom—celebrating color, form, and the sheer joy of creating.
