Megan McCarthy

self portrait.JPG

Megan Gael McCarthy approaches painting as a restorative practice, building thin layers of ethereal color that blur edges and soften form. Her work offers just enough detail to spark recognition while leaving space for personal interpretation. Through atmosphere and subtle gesture, she invites viewers to connect with their own memories and emotional landscapes.

Raised in the mountains of West Virginia and now based in Colorado, Megan finds her deepest inspiration in nature. She studied Communication Arts and Design at Virginia Commonwealth University and has exhibited widely across the Front Range, with solo shows at R Gallery in Boulder, the Dairy Arts Center, and Cafe Aion, among others. Her work has earned multiple awards from the BoldBrush Painting Competition and the Louisville Art Association.

In addition to painting, Megan has illustrated two children's books benefitting Save the Children and authored her own, My Love Letter to Noyers, inspired by the medieval French village where she has studied and worked multiple times through La Porte Peinte.
