In creating my large paintings, my current painting technique is to combine a mixture of abstract and representational imagery, all based on expressing environmental themes that are important to me.

I usually work from my own photographic reference to produce sketches for my oil paintings which are almost like collages in appearance. The environmental ideas that impel and inspire me are topics such as climate change, deforestation of tropical forests, water usage, and damage to the oceans.

Some paintings evolve into more representational images, others are more abstract in appearance. At the same time, since art is mainly visual, I work toward producing intriguing images that interest and engage the viewers.
