Jason Taittinger

Jason Tattinger is a mixed-media painter based in Longmont, Colorado. The American West is his foundation, but he treats it as atmosphere rather than a record of a place. Influenced by 20th-century illustrators like Maxfield Parrish, along with historical masters and contemporary painters, he aims for images that feel remembered rather than observed.
Jason committed to painting in 2022. Early on, color drove the work. Over time he found that the real weight of a painting sits in its design and composition. His subjects narrowed as his approach sharpened: animals, architecture, antiques, automobiles and aviation. In 2025 he began studying with mentors from across the United States and Canada to push that focus further.
Every piece starts with structure. From across the room, the composition pulls you in. Up close, delicate glazing, weathered textures and subtle shifts of color take over, and the brushwork all but disappears. What he leaves unresolved, the viewer's imagination fills in. His work has earned Best of Show and Best Color honors.
