Gaynor Nelson

Gaynor C. Nelson is a Longmont-based artist who works primarily in oil on linen, drawing inspiration from the Classical Realist tradition. Her personal style combines technical precision with rich, expressive detail, achieved through layered glazes, tonal underpaintings, and impasto techniques.
Her subject matter is diverse, including portraits, narrative figurative works, animals, still lifes, and landscapes. Each painting reflects a thoughtful balance of form, light, and story. In addition to her studio practice, Gaynor is an active member of the local arts community and organizes a weekly life drawing group for fellow artists.
