Provoking thought and stirring emotions are the basis for the works we create. Our sculpture has a minimalist look that lends harmony or the unexpected. Some command structural strength with weight and mass, while others play gracefully across the sky. Projects may start from a sketch, the surroundings, or evolve from found objects. With a mix of old-world methods and new technology we cut, forge, hammer, weld, and grind our abstract art. Media are often mixed to interject contrasting materials such as natural or hand-cut stone, various other metals, glass, and wood. Many of our pieces are weathered, which lends an organic feel to them. The use of patinas may add warmth, while vibrant colors paint a bold whimsical image. In the end, a positive viewer response or even a question adds to our enlightening experience.

Originally from the northwest suburbs of Chicago, we received degrees in Horticulture while working through the ranks of the landscape and floral industries. Shortly after marrying in 1979, we moved to Colorado and continued our careers while raising three children.

Since 1994, we have owned a design/build landscape firm in Longmont, Colorado. Our sculpture has evolved through the recognition of an occasional need for focus and contrast within the landscape. Through a collaborative effort, we each take part in the creative process from start to finish.

Our work ranges from tabletop to monumental, with commissions welcomed. They are placed in private and public collections.
