Dale Harding

self portrait.JPG

Dale Harding is a Colorado-based painter whose work is inspired by the region’s historic architecture, open grasslands, and majestic mountain landscapes. Working in oil, acrylic, and pastel, he brings a strong sense of place to his paintings—capturing both the rugged beauty of the West and the quiet character of its rural and urban structures.

Dale’s passion for art began in childhood. A cross-country trip along Route 66 sparked his imagination early on, as he filled sketchbooks with magical creatures, spaceships, and roadside scenes. By age eleven, he had moved from crayons to oils, painting alongside his aunt, a plein air painter who helped nurture his growing talent.

He went on to earn both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Art Education, focusing on painting and printmaking. After a decade of teaching art in public schools, Dale transitioned into the commercial screen printing industry, where his interest in process and technique led to a successful career in product development, training, and technical sales across the U.S. and abroad.

Now a full-time artist based in Northern Colorado, Dale continues to explore the landscape and architectural heritage of the region through a painter’s lens. His work has been recognized with numerous regional and national awards, and he regularly participates in juried exhibitions.
