After raising a family, caretaking parents, and enjoying teaching for 20 years, I am newly retired and having a BLAST creating art. Living in Boulder, Colorado, I can often be found in my studio, happily mesmerized by alcohol inks and hand-lettering.
Previously I painted with watercolors but was always disappointed when they dried and lost a lot of their color. I happened to discover alcohol inks in 2019. I've fallen in love with them and there's no looking back. I adore their deep saturation as well as their inability to be controlled. They are wild, colorful, and uncontrollable- just like life. I believe the purpose of life is joy and my paintings reflect this. I paint on Yupo paper mounted to wood panels and sealed in resin.
