Clay is extremely rich material: it has texture, color, can be transparent, can have functional or Aesthetic use. It can be transformed into an object, tiles, house, to an element in a performance or to be used for the space shuttles of NASA. To make the clay takes time, to do the work takes time, to fire the clay it takes time but the object will remind forever, as the Sumerian tablets with the first written syntactic language on it. Therefore, the clay can be a book. I am fascinated by the clay. It allows me to experience and be part of such a diversity that no one other material will offer me. It has many languages. It allows me to move from one expression to another, crossing borders, cultures and time periods. It gives me freedom- for me one of the most important human rights.
